Everyone reaches their tipping point, mine created a powerful female collective

We all have non-negotiables, and I found mine out the hard way after years of prioritizing a fast-paced management consultancy career over my health. I ignored the signs that my body and mind weren’t coping, addicted to the demands and challenges of the “work hard, play hard” attitude.

I relied heavily on caffeine and an unhealthy, sugary diet to fuel me
I always put the important things in my personal life on the back burner
Anything other than work was met with an “I’ll do it later attitude”, but later never came
Small, mundane tasks became a big deal and just made my anxiety worse
I lined up vacations as my allotted downtime sessions, but by the time they came around, I couldn’t relax, my mind worked overtime, and I ended up more stressed than ever

Eventually, I was diagnosed with high-functioning anxiety, my brain like a computer with too many tabs open…and I crashed.

I took matters into my own hands

If people reach perfection they vanish, you know”, and it’s this sentiment that made me realize I was losing myself. This was the point when I had to say “enough” and start the long road to rediscovery, learning what happiness and health really meant.

I took a gentle approach to diet and nutrition; I learned how the body and mind connect; and how a wide range of food has many benefits, and I broke away from the mindset of food as a reward. I started to move more and prioritize better sleep, and gradually, I started to feel better and notice an improvement in my anxiety symptoms.
